Will Patterson begins his first season as the tight ends coach at Mercer University in 2013.

 

Patterson most recently served as the offensive line coach at Eagles Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Ga.

 

Prior to his high school stint, Patterson worked as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Alabama-Birmingham with the football and baseball programs. His coaching background involves working camps at top collegiate programs in the southeast over the last three years, including Troy University, the University of Georgia and the University of South Alabama.

 

He began his coaching career after four successful seasons at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. At Rhodes, he was a three-year starter at right tackle, an extra-point snapper and was named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s All-Conference Team in 2010.

 

A native of Macon, Ga., Patterson was a two-time GISA AAA All-Region selection in 2005 and 2006, playing for First Presbyterian Day School. He was also named to the GISA AAA All-State team in 2006, playing at center and defensive tackle positions.
